Raspberry Puree

This versatile raspberry puree can be used to make many desserts even a little more special. Here at Forks Corks and Brews, we have used it on a variety of desserts and different flavors.

How do I Make Raspberry Puree?

  • Use ripe raspberries
  • Wash leaves and dirt off of them
  • Use fresh lemon juice
  • Remember to strain out the seeds

Can I Make This Ahead of Time?

Of course you can make this raspberry puree ahead of time. Often, we keep this on hand, either in the refrigerator or the freezer. It is also one we make when we have more raspberries than we can eat. Maybe we found a good deal at a farmers’ market or a neighbor shared a tub of raspberries with us.

How Long Does it Take to Make?

  • Plan at least 30 minutes ahead of when you want to use it
  • Plan longer if you want it to be cold

If  you want to use it cold, plan time for the puree to chill. This puree can be used warm, cool, or cold.

What Can I Serve Raspberry Puree With?

  • Lemon Souffles
  • Chocolate cheesecake
  • Vanilla bean cheesecake
  • Chocolate brownies
  • White chocolate mousse
  • Meyer lemon pound cake
  • French pastry cream cake
  • Fresh orange olive oil cake
  • Raspberry shortcakes
  • Angel food cake

Basically, you can serve this whenever you want to add a pop of color or introduce a mild berry taste to any dessert. This raspberry puree will make desserts look and taste more special than they already are.

What Are Some Other Serving Ideas?

  • The contrast between the slightly sweet raspberry puree and lemon desserts is a flavor profile that works well at the end of a meal.
  • You don’t have to always serve it on top of the dessert either. Try adding a spoon of this  puree in the bottom of a clear dessert glass. Then add our Simple White Chocolate Mousse https://www.forkscorksandbrews.com/simple-white-chocolate-mousse/ on top. It’s a dessert that’s pleasing to the eye and tastes fantastic.
  • If you prefer chocolate, serve a small spoon over the top of our Chocolate Mousse. Add a fresh raspberry to complete the dessert. What better way to change up the way you serve brownies? Place one of our brownies with extra flavor https://www.forkscorksandbrews.com/?s=brownies on a plate, add a small spoon of raspberry puree and add a dollop of whipped cream. Your brownies just became a special dessert.
  • The raspberry puree looks great in a small, clear pitcher to serve with any dessert.

How Long Will Raspberry Puree Last?

In the refrigerator, this puree will last about two weeks. If you need to keep it longer or if you don’t use it all before then, place it in a freezer-safe container. It will keep in your freezer for up to two months.
